College Student Summer Jobs - What's the Best Job This Summer

What are you doing this summer? If you're a college student, the answer is usually working, hitting the beach, partying, and basically taking it easy. The problem this summer is finding good college student summer jobs in the midst of this global recession.

You can start your search for college student summer jobs in the usual places-local classified ads, posting your resume on monster.com, networking and trying to get a job through someone you know. In the past, these methods were usually effective.

Today, the conventional search for college student summer jobs is no sure thing. With the global recession and unemployment rates as high as 15% in some places, even people who have been long established in the work force are having trouble.

This sad state of affairs means many in the established work force are taking the typical college student summer jobs like Mcdonald's or Subway after their unemployment benefits run out. For employers, this is a no-brainer. Most would rather have a more seasoned worker who will probably be more reliable and do a better job.

So where does that leave you? Well, if you still want to play in this rat race and try to get one of those traditional college student summer jobs, the odds are stacked against you. Instead, you need to leave that rat race behind and start thinking outside the box.

What's the only place in the world where commerce is actually increasing during this recession? You guessed it, the internet. This fact provides a grand opportunity for a computer and internet savvy person like yourself. Your college student summer job will be found right here on your computer.

I know what you're thinking "I know nothing about internet marketing, how can I find college student summer jobs on the internet?" That's okay. You don't need to know anything about marketing, just a good working knowledge of computers and the internet will do.

After you've become an internet marketer, the rewards are tremendous. You can set your own hours and work when and where you want. You also can work independently and not have to answer to a boss. This means you wont have to sacrifice any of your social life cause you have to work evenings or weekends.

Now you're probably asking "how do I learn?" This is a little trickier. There are alot of scams out there, so be careful. Do your research and talk to REAL people in the internet marketing forums and find a good online school that doesn't promise overnight riches, but instead will teach you the fundamental skills to be successful long-term.

After you find a good online university, you can expect to spend four to eight weeks learning the basics, all the while your income should be gradually increasing. After you've mastered the process, you can say goodbye to those other college student summer jobs forever.
