All pharmacists need an assistant to help them with their daily task and duties. An assistant is one who would arrange all the appointments, fill in prescriptions, settle the bills, check on stocks and supplies, maintain patients data, keep official information in order, check system files, measure liquids and count pills to be distributed, write labels and so on.
When this position is filled, the individual would be known as a pharmacy technician. In order to get an average salary that is satisfactory, it is recommended that you go through a learning course and gain a pharmacy technician certification.
This can be done through a few simple steps.

Know all the requirements that need to be met by the certificate you with to go after and learn all that is necessary. With a high school diploma, there are two bodies you could enroll in. these would be:
1. Institute for the Certification of Pharmacy Technicians
2. Pharmacy Technician Certification Board (PTCE).
The PTCE exam usually has 90 questions in multiple choice forms, 10 of which are pre-test questions that are non-graded. This test covers inventory control systems, maintaining medication and assisting a pharmacist in serving patients.
And the Institute for the Certification of Pharmacy Technicians on the other hand has 110 multiple choice questions. 10 of which are pre-test questions and the other 100 will be scored. This exam, through the Institute for the Certification of Pharmacy Technicians covers drugs and drug products, dispensing process as well as regulation and technician duties.
Once you have decided on which certificate to go after, knows all the requirements and sit for the examination. To prepare yourself, use the pre-test and sample test provided on the websites.
