The Tough Police Entrance Exam

I want to talk to you about the tough police entrance exam that you'll face when you're planning on becoming an officer of the law. A lot of people believe that if they do some studying, they'll be able to pass it. I wish it was that simple. I suppose in a simple and objective world that would be true, but the fact is that the police department isn't concerned with giving an objective test. They want the best of the best and that means they're going to give a hard test. The vast majority of people that take it will pass, so I hope that gives you a wakeup call. I'm going to talk to you about the police entrance exam and how tough it is.

The thing that people don't get is that they're not trying to measure your aptitude. A measurement of aptitude is something that is done in high school. This is for a job. This is for a very important job that has a ton of responsibilities. They don't have the first desire to see you exercise memorization skills. They want to see that you fully understand what it means to be an officer of the law and that's exactly what they'll do. All the questions will be application oriented because they want to know exactly what you're going to do. While studying, always focus on real life situations and how things apply to it.

The police entrance exam is tough, but as long as you put in the necessary time and effort you should do fine. You need to recognize that this isn't like an ordinary test that is completely objective. The questions are designed to make you mess up, so you really need to understand what it means to be an officer.
